Abstract

"Electric field calculations in the vicinity of a conductor above ground are developed with constraints on the distance from the conductor for which the electric field equations can be applied for practical applications. The electric field in the vicinity of a small water drop adhering to the conductor has been calculated. Application of this electric field in the vicinity of the water drop has been used to compute the apparent surface charges and also the forces on the small water drop surface. Methods for the calculation of space charge due to ionization on the water drop has been suggested"--Abstract, page ii.
