Abstract
"The method of z-transforms is used to derive the error performance of an average noise power estimator that utilizes data of finite sample size. Rectangular and trapezoidal integrators are employed by the estimator. Theoretical performance of each integrator is derived as a function of the number of samples utilized to form the estimate"-- Abstract, p. ii
