Masters Theses
Abstract
"The object of this investigation was to study the reactions of two other halogenated epoxides--namely, 3-bromo-1,2-epoxybutane and l-bromo-2,3-epoxybutane--with the phenolate ion, with the hope that the results obtained would shed additional light upon the mechanisms of such reactions. At the present time, no direct practical applications of the results can be forseen. However, the information gained will be a worthwhile addition to the vast existing store of knowledge already at our disposal, and might be of some help to future investigators"--Introduction, page 2.
