Abstract
The behaviour of profiled sheets under concentrated static load is discussed. The effect of aspect ratio and the depth of the sheet on the redistribution of stresses is investigated. The stress concentration caused by the concentrated load can lead to an anomalous pattern of behaviour, where local plastic failure occurs at lower loads in shorter spans rather than in longer spans.
