Abstract
A comprehensive experimental study of the tension strength of arc spot weld connections, that affix a cold-formed steel roof deck to its support member, was conducted. Based on the experimental results obtained from over 260 connection tests, equations have been developed that predict the tension capacity of an arc spot weld connection. These equations are easily applied, and lend themselves to use by structural designers.
