Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to present the geotechnical investigation results of some liquefaction sites in central Taiwan, including Nantou City and Zhanghua County during Chi-Chi Earthquake, 1999. The major damages caused by liquefaction in these sites are also presented. The several methods used to evaluate the liquefaction potential are used to assess these sites. The suitability of these methods to assess these sites is discussed in this paper.
