Abstract

Reconstituted soft clay triaxial specimens were prepared by means of vacuum preloading. Both static and cyclic tests were carried out, with the specimens consolidated under different principal effective stress ratios. The test results lend themselves to incorporation in a finite element formulation, which can readily be used for calculating the deformation of soft clay under cyclic loading.
