Basement Tectonics 12. Central North America and Other Regions
Abstract
These proceedings contain eight full papers presented at the conference, as well as 42 abstracts of poster and paper presentations, demonstrating the pivotal role that 'basement' studies play in understanding the evolution of the lithosphere and in the better management of resources. The papers reflect the main theme of the meeting, looking at the tectonic problems of the older continental crust. Particular attention is given to the southern margin of the North American plate, the Appalachians, and the Italian region. Methods of geophysical probing of upper crustal structures are also explored.
