Ore Microscopic Technique in the Identification and Study of Uranium Ore Minerals
Abstract
The application of the ore microscope to the identification of uranium minerals is of great economic importance and emphasizes the usefulness of quantitative measurements of reflectance, indentation hardness, and color. The textural character of the uranium minerals and their relationship to associated minerals is diagnostically significant. Ore microscopy is a very useful technique for the study of uranium ores, and its wider application would help solve other geological and metallurgical problems.
