The Status of Process Mineralogy in 1988

Abstract

Although the field of applied or process mineralogy has been recognized for some time, its importance has been most significantly realized only in the past ten years. Initiated in 1978, the Process Mineralogy Committee, a joint TMS-SME committee, has served as the principal catalyst. The article identifies the major published sources on the subject and university sponsored educational courses.
