1994 Seattle Symposium Reveals Complexity and Value of Military Geology
Abstract
Military geology was treated to a full day's inspection and evaluation by 31 papers delivered at the 1994 Engineering Geology Division Symposium at the Seattle Annual Meeting of the Geological Society of America. Speakers came to the symposium from hands-on interest, from their own career perspectives and all evidencing a real and sincere interest in the application of geology to military operations. The acceptance of this day-long commitment to applied geology was received as evidence of an increased awareness of the need to apply geology to humanitarian and societal needs.
