Other Enhanced Oil Recovery Methods for Unconventional Reservoirs
Abstract
This chapter discusses the feasibility of other enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods in shale and tight oil reservoirs such as thermal recovery, microbial EOR, and foam air injection. It provides some details of field applications for some of these EOR methods, if present. This chapter also presents obstacles, which impair the performance of these EOR techniques. It summarizes the theories behind the featured EOR methods, as well as their performance in the lab and in simulation methods.
