The Economies Of Scale Of Fuel-grade Ethanol Plants
Abstract
Understanding the economies of scale of a commercially sized, fuel-grade ethanol plant can assist planners in determining the optimum size for projected facilities. We have surveyed several operating and projected commercial scale ethanol plants to determine their cost structures. These cost structures were used to create an econometric model for calculating economies of scale based on the lowest cost per gallon of fuel-grade ethanol. © 1982.
