SoS Architecting and Operational Coordination of Microgrid Cluster for Optimal Energy Management

Abstract

Microgrid cluster which contains multiple types of distributed generations and loads shows system of systems(SoS) independence, ownership, interconnection, heterogeneity and other characteristics. From the perspective of SoS methodology and its mechanism of self-adaptation and self-organization ability, this paper first analyzed and demonstrated that microgrid cluster is a typical DCASoS (decentralized complex adaptive SoS). Based on this viewpoint, the architecture of microgrid cluster energy management and the cooperative optimal operation were discussed. From two aspects of the basic characteristics of DCASoS and the energy operational coordination of microgrid cluster, energy operational coordination framework of microgrid cluster based on DCASoS, which can strive to fully exploit the positive effects emerging from microgrid cluster and avoid negative impacts, improve the overall performance of the microgrid cluster, was proposed. The related research results can provide a new method and theoretical basis for the energy operational coordination of microgrid cluster.
