Establishing a Collaborative Engineering Management Program with King Saud University
Abstract
In the Fall of 2010, two Missouri University of Science & Technology (Missouri S and T) Engineering Management master's degree courses were offered to students at King Saud University (KSU) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. While this does not appear at first glance to be a significant accomplishment, it was the culmination of over three years of effort by administration and faculty representatives from both universities. These two courses are the start of a collaborative Applied Engineering Management Program (AEMP) that will be the first of its kind in this region. a cohort of full time working students will take both on-site and distance education courses over a two year period. in the final summer session, students will be invited to the Missouri S&T campus for a capstone course. the initial M.S. degree will be a Missouri S&T Engineering Management degree with the anticipation that within a year students will be able to receive dual M.S. Engineering Management degrees, one from Missouri S&T and the other from KSU. Copyright, American Society for Engineering Management, 2011.
