Development of a Project Management Certificate Program in Engineering Management
Abstract
The University of Missouri Rolla's Engineering Management and Systems Engineering Department has developed a Graduate Certificate Program in Project Management that offers an opportunity for professionals to expand their project management knowledge through a flexible graduate education program. the introduction of this certificate was motivated by the increasing demand for postgraduate education in this area. the distance education program is designed to fit around the work, travel and family demands of the busy technical professional. the certificate provides a solid foundation in the methods and practices of project management and provides information that can be immediately applied to managing projects in the work place. the certificate consists of three Engineering Management courses in project management and one course in economic analysis.
