An Improved Submesh Allocation Scheme using Dominant Free Submeshes
Abstract
Efficient processor allocation is crucial for achieving high-performance in space-shared parallel systems. This paper proposes an algorithm that has complete submesh recognition capability, avoids exhaustive searching, and achieves better results compared to several of the previously proposed algorithms. in the simulations, two different job scheduling policies are considered, namely First-Come-First-Served (FCFS) and modified FCFS (MFCFS).
