Abstract
Current high-density, high-speed devices such as Xilinx's Virtex FPGAs are more than capable of implementing a 64-bit, 66 MHz PCI bus interface and associated application specific logic. This paper presents a novel design for an FPGA-based PCI bus interface, which is being used in the development of a medical ultrasound instrument.
