Video Caddy: A System for the Storage, Organization, and Management of TV Programs
Abstract
Cable and Satellite-Dish television systems offer hundreds of channels with a wide variety of programs. However, with the current setup, almost all users (subscribers) can use only a small fraction of the available programs effectively. To alleviate this inefficient and ineffective viewing situation, this paper proposes a system for the storage, organization, and management of user selected TV programs. This provides flexibility of customized viewing and enhances the usage of the available channels. The proposed system is expected to have tremendous impacts on the consumption and dissemination of information in many diverse areas such as personal and group entertainment, education, journalism, and several others.
