An Improved Method for the Practical Determination of Core and Copper Losses in High Frequency Switchmode Transformers
Abstract
This paper discusses an improved method for testing high frequency transformers, which are pivotal to the construction of switchmode power supplies. A previously-proposed method of testing transformers is shown to have some challenges for practical implementation. Here, a more practical approach to realizing the conventional method is proposed. The tests are applied on a high frequency switchmode transformer and the results are discussed and quantified.
