Inductance Models of 8-Terminal Decoupling Capacitors
Abstract
The parasitic inductance associated with decoupling capacitors represents a critical portion of the power delivery network impedance. An accurate model of the inductance looking into 8-terminal decoupling capacitors from the power and return planes, called Labove, cap, is developed. Two modeling approaches are presented using CST and using an approximate PEEC model.
