Dynamic Response Improvement in H-Bridge Enhanced Buck Converter
Abstract
This work proposes a new buck derived converter topology with improved dynamic response in comparison to the conventional buck converter. The new topology is labeled as the H-bridge enhanced buck (HEB) converter. This paper, first introduces the HEB converter topology, its operation modes during steady-state condition, and the flying capacitor charge balance operation. Next, it explains the reason for the improved dynamic response in the HEB converter and introduces a controller for this converter. Finally, it provides adequate simulation and experimental results to verify the operation of the converter and its controller.
