Duties of the President [Behind the Peoplescenes]
Abstract
In the Society Handbook, the responsibilities and objectives of the President are summarized as being: ...responsible for the protection of Society interests. The President is expected to lead the Society and the AdCom to promote the interests of the Society and its members in professional, technical, academic, societal, and political realms. In addition, the President is the primary Society point-of-contact with the IEEE, its various Boards, and other societies. Consequently, the President must also represent and protect the IEEE I&M Society's interests within the Institute and its various boards of governance, and is included as a member of the IEEE Technical Activities Board. The Society President projects the image and the overall quality associated with our Society.
