Abstract

"This dissertation describes a software tool developed for estimating resilient modulus of subgrade material, predicting field moisture content for different combinations of environmental and pavement related factors, and modifying resilient modulus values based on changes in moisture contents. Subgrade resilient modulus is a key factor for use in mechanistic-empirical pavement design methods. However, there are many implementation issues related to resilient modulus testing that need to be resolved. In this dissertation the author attempts to provide some alternative solutions"--Abstract, page iii.
