State-of-the-art of Control Systems and SSI Effect on Active Control Structures with Embedded Foundation
Abstract
This paper reviews recent developments of structural control systems with focus on hybrid control currently in vogue. The presentation also includes the effect of soil-structure interaction (SSI) on active controlled seismic-resistant structures with embedded foundation. Numerical results reveal that SSI requires much larger control force than that for the same controlled structure without SSI.
