Glazed Opening Designs for Windborne Debris Impact
Abstract
ASCE 7-95 specifies use of large internal pressure coefficient if buildings in hurricane prone regions have glazed openings that are not designed for or protected from windborne debris impact. Specific direction is provided that will assist the designer in defining impacting debris, specifying tests for debris impact, identifying laboratories that conduct debris impact tests and obtaining information on products that meet debris impact requirements.
