Dear WEF, the Academy Needs Your Input to Update the Environmental Engineering Body of Knowledge
Abstract
The Water Environment Federation (WEF) was there at the beginning. In 1952, the Joint Committee for the Advancement of Sanitary Engineering was established through a collaboration that included WEF, the American Water Works Association (AWWA), the American Public Health Association (APHA), the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) (Boyce, 1963). Together, and with others, these organizations established what has become the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES, or the Academy) (AAEES, 2021b), responsible for credentialing the water environment profession. AAEES is in the process of revising standards for environmental engineering education and needs your input.
