Key Considerations for EMS Implementation in Academia
Abstract
The key considerations related to the EMS implementation in academia were discussed. The considerations for the planning the development and implementation of an EMS in an academic area include EMS development & implementation, environmental compliance, and organizational changes. The key organizational changes at all functions and levels includes environmental awareness, roles and responsibility, and individual accountability. The benefits of the program are reduced negative impact on the environment, improved public image, and improved relationships with regulatory agencies.
