Simple Synthesis of MoS₂ and WS₂ Nanotubes
Abstract
The synthesis of nanotubes of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) and tungsten disulfide (WS2) was investigated. The preparation involved gas-phase reaction between MoO3 and H2S in the presence of argon. The investigation showed that nanotubes of molybdenum disulfide were readily formed with MoS3 and (NH4)2MoS4 in a reduced environment of hydrogen.
