W/O Microemulsions With Anionic/Nonionic Surfactant Combinations And Pentanol As Cosurfactant
Abstract
The stability areas for W/O microemulsions of decane and water with pentanol as cosurfactant were determined with a/ sodium dodecyl sulphate and b/ a sodium dodecyl sulphate/hexaethylene glycol dodecyl ether combination in a 1/1 weight ratio as surfactants. The results showed only small differences for the W/O microemulsion areas with the combined surfactants and with the ionic surfactant alone. It appears that the simple rules for the preparation of W/O microemulsions stabilized with ionic surfactants also can be used for ionic/nonionic mixtures of surfactants. © 1983, MCB UP Limited
