On The Determination Of The Thermal Accommodation Coefficient Of Gases On A Tungsten Surface At Elevated Temperatures
Abstract
Details are given of a thermal conductivity cell designed specifically to measure thermal accommodation coefficients (A. C.) of rare gases on clean tungsten at elevated temperatures. The cell was used to measure the A.C. of helium on tungsten for temperatures between 300 °K and 623 °K. The values obtained are compared with other available experimental data and, in view of the comparison, suggestions are made regarding further use of the cell. The experimental data are compared also with the results of several theoretical models. © 1974.
