Organically Templated Mixed-Valent Iron-Sulfates Possessing Kagome and Other Types of Layered Networks
Abstract
A perfect Kagomé lattice is displayed by the mixed-valent layered structure of [HN(CH2)6NH][FeIII- Fe2IIF6(SO4)2] · [H3O] (see picture), in which 100% of the iron sites are occupied. The complex exhibits unusual magnetic properties and both magnetic frustration and ferrimagnetic behavior are observed.
