Low Temperature Specific Heat of Y₆Mn₂₃
Abstract
The specific heat of the intermetallic compound Y6Mn23 was measured below 20 K. The data were found to be well described by the expression C= αT+γT3 below 7 K, where γ is 212 mJ/mole K4. A Debye temperature of 339 K was calculated for the lattice contribution. The observed behavior and the values for α and γ are consistent with specific heat results of other compounds in the series Y6(Fe1−x Mnx)23.
