Polymerization in Water-in-oil Microemulsion Systems - 1
Abstract
Phase diagrams for monomer (methyl acrylate containing microemulsions) are shown and described. Polymerizations of a series of microemulsified minomer reveals the expected linear dependence of a given ratio for pentanol acting as a chain transfer agent and giving a value of 5. 1 multiplied by 10** minus **4 for C//s. No break in molecular weight behavior was shown as a result of micellization at higher water contents. a comparison of molecular weights obtained by various classical methods (solution, emulsion, bulk) are also given.
