Decay of Rb⁸⁶ by Electron Capture
Abstract
The decay of Rb86 by electron capture was determined by measuring the abundance of Kr86 produced in a pile-irradiated rubidium salt. A branching ratio of E.C.-=(5.24 ± 0.52)×10-5 for Rb86 was obtained by comparing the excess Kr86 with excess Kr80 from the internal bromine monitor and with the Rb86 activity.
