Research and Development Needs and Opportunities in Freeze Drying
Abstract
Experimental and theoretical research and development studies are proposed and presented in important areas of the freeze drying process. The practical importance of the synergistic integration of advanced theoretical models and experiments is indicated, and the potential contributions of the proposed studies in the appropriate design, scale-up, control, and prediction of the dynamic behavior of freeze dryers and of the freeze drying process, are presented and discussed.
