Electrostatic Effects on Partitioning of Proteins in Aqueous Two-Phase Systems. II. Charged Polymers
Abstract
Previously developed solution theory has been used here to analyze the partitioning of proteins in two-polymer two aqueous-phase systems when one of the polymers is charged. Very large partition coefficients are predicted and are shown to be very sensitive to pH changes at low electrolyte concentrations, in keeping with experimental observations. © 1993 Academic Press.
