Abstract
INTRODUCTION Increasing interest in recent years in the performance of roof systems acting as shear diaphragms to resist horizontally applied loads, as well as the vertical loads for which they are primarily designed, has led to an increasingly large number of tests of fullsize and scaled structures loaded in this manner. Fenestra, Inc., manufacturers of light gage steel floor and roof panels, has sponsored an extensive series of tests at Cornell University of floor and roof diaphragms composed of certain of their standard panel sections. The following report describes tests of shear diaphragms using three types of Fenestra 1 1/2" roof deck panels.
