Design and Development of an Underground Hardrock Mine with the Assistance of Rock Mechanics Software
Abstract
Rock mechanics software plays an important role during the design process of modern underground mines by allowing for verification of the stability of the planned excavations. the paper describes the methodology used to plan and locate the permanent underground openings at McArthur River Mine with the assistance of numerical modeling software.
