Precollege Science Education: Start Them Early
Abstract
Today's careers in ceramic science and engineering, research and manufacturing, unmistakably have been borne out of our childhood curiosity of science and technology. Studies have shown that the earlier an interest in science is developed, the more likely that interest will be retained throughout one's lifetime. The reverse of this statement holds true. This article shows how practitioners of scientific and technical arts have a special opportunity to help shape a student's interest in the profession and have fun at the same time.
