Abstract
"This study was made to determine the location of a point at which a vertical load may be applied to a rigid frame structure and produce zero sidesway, the so called zero sidesway axis. For concentrated loads equations have been derived for zero sidesway. For uniform and triangular loads graphs showing zero sidesway for various ratios of column and beam stiffnesses and height ratios have been plotted"--Abstract, page ii.
