A framework and graphical user interface (GUI) for moving object simulation

Keywords and Phrases

Spatiotemporal data; Synthetic data

Abstract

"Emerging spatial applications like vehicle or human trajectories archival data, fire front monitoring, flight simulators, weather forecast, etc., have moving objects which change position, shape and size over time. These are the so-called "Spatiotemporal objects". Spatiotemporal objects have aspects like influence of the static obstacles, influence of other moving objects, route, etc. The behavior of these systems overtime is difficult to analyze theoretically. These characteristics are the basis for the specification and development of a new simulator which simulates the moving objects, their interactions, influence of the environment they are in and defines an infrastructure which models a real-world environment and provides some visualization. This thesis offers a framework for a simulator where the suer defines the exact behavior of the simulator, taking into consideration the characteristics of a wider range of applications"--Abstract, page iii.
