Xenon-134 from the Decay of Cesium-134

Abstract

The production of Xe¹³⁴ from the decay of Cs¹³⁴ was determined by measuring the amount of Xe¹³⁴ in a pile-irradiated cesium salt. A branching ratio (λE.C.+λβ+)λβ-=4.5×10^-7 was obtained by comparing the excess Xe¹³⁴ with the Cs¹³⁴ activity.
