Analysis of light gage steel shear diaphragms part II

Abstract

This report is based on research conducted by the first author at Cornell University, under the direction of the second author. It provided the basis for a thesis presented to the Faculty of the Graduate School of Cornell University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Because of its size, the report is published in two parts: Part I: Summarizes the present state of knowledge and describes the experimental part of the investigation. Part II: Describes the method adopted for the analysis, describes results, compares with experimental results, and presents conclusions based on the analytical investigation. Part I is available under the title ANALYSIS OF LIGHT GAGE STEEL SHEAR DIAPHRAGMS - PART I, Report No. 350, from the Department of Structural Engineering at Cornell University, or from the American Iron and Steel Institute, 633 Third Avenue, New York City, New York, 10017. This investigation was sponsored by the American Iron and Steel Institute through Research Grant No. 1201-201 to Cornell University.
