Biography

Milo Hathaway is a freshman history major at Missouri S&T, specializing in national security. Originally from Belleville, Illinois, he is particularly interested in how the spread of information and ideas shaped political and social developments in 18th- and 19th-century America. His other interests include classical antiquity, political science, historical demography, anthropology, and moral philosophy—specifically the thought Schopenhauer and Nietzsche. His previous research focused on historic Victorian homes in Southern Illinois and the stories of their residents. His current research examines the spread of news of the 1733-4 St. John slave rebellion.
