An integrated analysis of inventory and transportation problem: a simulation study

Abstract

"The intense competition in today's economy forces companies to improve their operations in order to keep up with the increase in customer expectations regarding cost and services. In recent years, the coordination of different supply chain operations in order to improve the system-wide performance has gained much interest among researchers and practitioners. This study proposes a methodology to create a decision support system to help managers make effective decisions in the integrated analysis of the inventory and transportation system"--Abstract, page iii.
