Abstract

The SMF Research Council assists SMF and its constituencies in establishing research directions benefit the mining industry and its professions. It also provides information about these directions to its membership, to government and to related industrial societies. With the closure of the US Bureau of Mines (USBM), the council is now much more working on its own.
