Support Methods in Tunnels

Abstract

An attempt is made to collate actual experience from several mines with design principles and simple theory so as to provide a better understanding of the problems of tunnel support. A set of guidelines is offered to the rock-mechanics fractioner or whoever else might be responsible for the decision as to which support method is required in any particular situation.
