Coal Log Pipeline Transport System and Technology

Abstract

An alternative new pipeline system for transporting coal known as the 'coal log pipeline (CLP)' is presented in this paper. This paper describes the CLP concept, presents comparative transportation cost data, CLP basic design criteria, and end-of-pipeline materials handling requirements. The CLP promises to be both technically and economically feasible. This technology is rapidly progressing and some tests are currently underway at the Capsule Pipeline Research Center.
