A Reciprocity Relationship for Transmission in Non-Uniform Hard Walled Ducts Without Flow

Abstract

A reciprocity relationship for the reflection and transmission coefficients for the propagation of sound in a non-uniform hard walled duct is derived. The relationship is based on a similar one previously known in the theory of electromagnetic waveguides. An example calculation is shown to support the relationship. © 1976.
